Oscar Nominations 2012: When are the Oscars?

Celebrities will walk the red carpet and take their seats on Sunday for the 84th Awards scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m. ET on February 26, 2012. The show will be broadcast on ABC, and Billy Crystal will be hosting for the first time since 2004.


If you are eager to see your favorite stars on the red carpet, you can tune in to ABC at 7 p.m. ET and watch celebrities arrive at the Kodak Theater, Los Angeles venue. Stations such as TV Guide and E! will also be broadcasting from the red carpet.

And this year, nine nominees compete for Best Picture: "The Artist", "The Descendants," "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close", "The Help", "Hugo", "Midnight In Paris", "Money ball", "The Tree of Life" and "War Horse."

"The Artist," might be the first silent film to win an Oscar for Best Picture since the first Academy Awards, the Star observes.
